Brief Overview

In 1956 TeachBeyond (formerly known as Janz Team Ministries) founded Black Forest Academy, or BFA.  It ‘s grown to a current enrollment of approximately 325 students for grades 1 through 12, which includes over 150 students in the residential boarding program for grades 7 to 12.  The school facilities now occupy three separate campuses for the elementary, middle school and high school. Students receive  a rigorous, English language education as well as an opportunity to learn through art, athletics and ministry.  BFA is a truly international Christian school serving and educating the children of missionaries and international business families who want a North American curriculum that incorporates a Christian worldview.

But, why BFA? For the Griesses, we feel that this is a great place to have a truly global impact by preparing the next generation of Christian leaders and missionaries who will share God’s love for the world. The mission community needs the help and support of fellow believers and many of those needs, specifically needs here at BFA, match our gifts. God made a way for us to be here when it seemed impossible. We took one small step of faith at a time and He led us here.
